Vessel Check-In & Maritime Traffic

April 17, 2026

To further facilitate NOSA’s commitment of smoother vessel check-ins this year, final meetings have been held for coordination of vessel check-in procedures between ECV Marina, the official check-in point, and the Coral Marina. The meeting included ASIPONA — the authority responsible for maritime traffic, the Port Captain and the Secretariat of the Navy.

ASIPONA reminded us of the requirement to maintain contact with Ensenada Maritime Traffic Control via VHF Channels 16 and 14. They also alerted us to the anticipated heavy maritime traffic during our race days. Specifically, the presence of two cruise ships on Saturday, as well as cargo vessels, and emphasized that sailboats bound for ECV or Baja Naval must utilize the secondary navigation channel for entry (passing between the yellow buoys).

Finally, the coordination with the Secretariat of the Navy focused on arranging maritime and land-based support within the marina facilities.
